Video Game 3 Level Boss character design!!
we got a location and an adjective and i got misty + laboratory! decided to make an arcade/puzzle game about a fail experiment lab rat that wasnt having the scientist’s shit anymore and decided to wreck shit! so the scientists had to call a special exterminator (the player character) and he must do all he can to exterminate this rat!
lvl 1 (left) is friendly looking but dont let its cute ears fool you! he’s got mean claws and a sharp tail tip that excretes acid! once taking it down with some electro-shock therapy (weapon used to defeat it) you notice it scurry away!
once you get through some air duct puzzle mess you go to the 2nd room to find the rat has adapted and grew bigger (and uglier)!! lvl 2 (middle) is now immune to all electric type attacks and his striking range with his tail is doubled!! not only is he immune to electricity but if he stabs you with both his tail blades he sends you volts of electricity only increasing every time he stabs you!! so watch out!! take him down with some chemicals and viles laying around in the lab and send him running!!
chasing after him for the final fight you notice a terrible rotting smell and see the lab rat! flesh melting off his bones and sloshing around as he moves towards you!! his movements are slowed down by a lot but his tails can still reach you with distance! you cannot seem to touch him since his flesh will literally melt you to the same goop as him! best way to take him down is by lighting that bitch on FIRE!!
sorry about the long description!! >___<;;;;
How do you get your lines (like in your Cheesasaurus Rex piece) so clean?? I could've sworn it was done in illustrator until I took a closer look
oh haha its all done in photoshop with just a crispy brush! haha
I got the Fernden Brush Tool Presets HERE~
like wow i must say like its totes worth it! the brushes are really sensitive and fluid and just ugh a dreaaaam!
and like….wow thank you so much lol im blushing like mad since i admire your stuff so much as well
Character design: Mascot Redesign!
Decided to redesign the famous Cheesasaurus Rex for Kraft’s Macaroni and Cheese!
i was trying to go about drawing this as if its for a promotional poster or for the box its self (hence the long vertical format)
Had lots of fun (and difficulties) trying to make him NOT like his older images and something more “fun-sized” and still have a friendly “edge” to him for kids to like! And good gawd drawing that cheese was a challenge……
My final for character design
the assignment was to draw an adventurer and a sidekick and wow yes i think i love these two way too much haha
Both Astrid (left) and Neil (right) live on a desert planet in far off space and they like to spend their time scavenging and looking for cool mechanical parts and pieces! partly because Neil likes to tinker and is more techy with things of that nature and Astrid likes to reap the benefits of his skills and have him build cool things like her “sun-brella” which is basically an umbrella with a torch at the top. its used to keep her warm on cloudy days….and yes she has gone through many pairs of hats because its always toooo close to the flames haha. she had neil make a pair of brass knuckles at the end of the sun-brella so she can look tough and punch other scavengers in the face when they want what she has or vice versa…she literally doesnt give a fuck
what class level are you at MICA? (like sophmore, etc.) your work is really cool and your classes sound interesting.
I am currently a junior at MICA! :D
next year im gonna be a cool senior and crying over thesis work ahahaha~
but YEAH! my classes so far are super rad! I’m more into my character design class then anything else at the moment but yesyes classes are rad~
MORE NEIL CONCEPTS!! and i think i like these a bit more!!
since Astrid is a sun lovin lizard I think having Neil from a sun planet/background would connect them a bit more … . and the contrast with a giant reptile and small mammal (she could eat but would never do since theres not enough meat on him) seems like a nice contrast :D
